Hey guys, im thinking about buying a '79 2.3 (no turbo). Engine is in decent condition, body has no visible rust. Needs some TLC. Converted to USD its going for around $660.

I own a '95 3.8 so its not for performance that im looking at the 2.3, i just want to find out whether its worth getting for a dependable daily driver. Also dont know anything about the 4cyl models. Any major problems like head gaskets etc?

Read up the specs, says its got 88hp, hows the torque?

And its an auto... Is it 4spd or 3spd?? Hmmm

Good little engine. Make sure the timing belt is good so it doesn't snap and leave you stranded. It is only 88hp, but produces about 120 ft/lbs of torque at 2800rpms. Good on gas when tuned up well.
