Default 1992 convertible 2.3

I just bought my 1st car, it's a 1992 ford mustang convertable 4 cyl. 2.3L

The car has 103k miles on it. Runs great and every mech i have been to has told me that the Engine is great, and will last me till i wanna sell it or trade it in.

A buddy of mine has a cold air injector he told me to put on but my mom said i will blow the motor. But she said i can do what i want.

Will it hurt to put the cold air injector on or will it help?

Default 2.3L cool air intake.

Yea, I'm 16. But my buddy and his dad said that a cool air intake made just for my car is expensive. He has one that fits any car. Would it hurt to use a cool air intake that is made for any car on mine?

My car sat for 3 years so I'm putting a new transmission in it.
I bought a totaled 1991 mustang and I'm putting that transmission in my 1992 mustang. I'll put pictures up when I get it back wich should be in the next two days.

well, the cold air intake for out cars goes for about $75. But a universal cold air intake should work as well, the point is the same, more cold, dense air. but if you car has MAF then if might need to be recalibrated for the more air flow..

Default ok

The car has 103k miles on it. All my mechanics say the engine is good.
Will it be good for my engine to have a cold air intake on it?

I don't wanna hurt my baby =]

it wont hurt the car. but like said above, you might have to recalibrate the MAF sensor so it can handle more air coming in the engine.

well if your looking to keep it stock and not tamper with it then leave it alone, if you want more power and make it a little quicker start putting some money into her and experimenting... i would say: cold air intake, new exhaust, try and get a header off ebay, port and polish the intake manifold and call it good..
