Default I am out of ideas.

1993 2.3l LX Vert
Here is what's happening; I have no spark and the fuel pump is not going on, so the car will not run. This is the kind of problem that got progressievly worse. It used to happen now and then, but if I waited say half an hour, the car would fire up and run again for maybe two or three days;until one night it just cut right out while driving and will not start again. That was about two weeks ago.

Here is what it is not:
It is not the Fuel pump relay or the IRCM.
It is not the ignition switch.
It is not the main computer located under the glove box.
It is not the engine computer that is located on driver's side engine bay.

Someone said it could be the crank position sensor, but that would not compromise hearing the fuel pump do its "hmmm" when I turn the key on.

Any and all suggestions appreciated and considered. I almost gave up on the car and was goingto sell it for dirt cheap, but I had an attack of common sense and trailed the car from New Orleans to Pensacola,Fl. I am settled now in Pensacola, and I would like to get the car up and running.

Thanks in advance to all.

I checked fuses and fuseible links. What relay box are you talking about? My car has the IRCM mounted on the shock tower;that is where most of the relays are located, in the ICRM. There once was power going to the coils, but not now.

just had another thought, have you inspected the wiring harness in the steering column? if it has tilt the wires are always flexing when it get put in a different position. it will make some stuff work while the rest don't.i know old chevys w/tilt had those problems, don't recall ford ever having that go on. but if the switch split inside that is another story.found this it mite help.Replace a 1979-1993 Ignition Switch Assembly

could very well be the ignition switch, but it could also be a fusable link @ the starter solinoid, i think you need a wiring diagram for the constant control module ( passanger strut tower) and start looking for constant power and keyed power feeds.

BTW, when refering to the ignition switch, it is not the place where you put the key, it is the multi wire white plug under the column cover. Ensure you pull the neg battery cable first.......
