Default 1988 Mustang 2.3l Timing Belt Question

Looking to buy an 88' 2.3L 5spd for a fair price good gas milage plus can put my motor in it when I get it done. I seen it on LSN wasnt a bad price what he was asking so I texted him asked if he still had it and had dropped the price $600.00 so I texted him back askin whats wrong with it he says the timing belt needs changed, and paint is little rough I asked why timing belt needed changed he said the belt is showing a little wear I guess dryrotten is what he was getting to.

Question is how hard to change belt and anything else need to be changed with it? He also said belt was external and to my knowledge I have never looked at one of these motors. Thanks for the help.

The timing belt is fairly easy to change. Just remove the accessory drive belt, remove the cover andif the belt is bad just pull it or cut it off. IIRC it basically just slips back over the pullies, I havent had much experience with EFI 2.3's.
