ok if you think its okay to "street race" then you better be ready for a federal offense and jail time, i mean NJ has about 11 tracks you can go to, and you can get your "rush" there, because there is no excuse for endangering someones life, and when people see someone "street race"
that makes the "honest/ take it to the track type of person" look bad.
the track is the safest place, i agree. however, smart street racing is ok, do it out of town. scout out some roads that might not have frequent traffic, but is otherwise a decently flat road. racing in town is plain dumb, you never what could pop out in front of you. i don't believe all the media propaganda that all street racing kills people, it is a problem yes, but it is possible to be responsible. i know how you feel, there's no track close to where i am and a 6 hour drive just for a cheap thrill is rediculous. not to mention there's only a couple days a month they allow street cars and average joes to race.
my only street racing is a timetrial coming back from walmart taking the backroads thru the other subdivison and down heatherwilde....
but i mean these are 2 lane roads the whole way with nice turns.... and its 12-3am. i never would race flatout i would try maybe just maybe to get around people if they piss me off but wth my 2.3 i dont hold too high of stanbdards to myself having an extra 350 lbs in my car with me and my subs in it. i am not the fastest guy on the road

I don't race on the street. I did run against a 95 civic and beat him on a couple occasions (a guy I used to work with) in the parking lot after work one night (big empty space, I work for a shipping company).

can you please get your facts straight... there are 3 tracks in NJ and also "street racing" is not a Federal crime...
that is all I have to add to this conversation...
I also people where this outraged about Dwi and DwON... but you never hear that on the news....
As for making others look bad... well don't draw attention to yourself and you will be fine... Do not blame others for your problems or how YOU drive.... your car
