i have a 1993 2.3l and while im saving money to do the 2.3 turbo swap i was wundering if there were some small kinda cheap things i could do to the n/a 2.3 in the mean time just to get a little more power out of it
Cold Air Intake, K and N filter, Spark Plugs, Wires, Distributor cap and rotor, new exhaust, cut your cats off, and remove the a/c belt, 2.3 ranger header... any quesitons just ask..

bigger exaust helps along with getting rid of the air restictor
tube between the mass air meter and t-body I used 2 inch black abs
pipe and bend and rubber cuplers from Lows hardware
It got rid of the lack of power at upper rpms and fuel mpg went up to 29 from 24 on daily commute of 76 miles
Jim
i appreciate the help guys and what kinda exhaust should i put on cause i am able to make a custom on but should i keep the muffler or anything like that for backpressure or no
I wouldn't waste money on an all new exhaust until after you do an engine swap cause you'll want to upgrade it to 3" anyways, but that's way to big for the n/a.

For your stang i would say a good exhaust set up is: A tube like header from a 2.3 ranger, no cats or high flow single cat and pipe which you can buy from summit, and a flowmaster muffler..

just put a flowmaster on it dont worry about hacking the whole exhaust up because like bluenotch said youre gonna have to put a new one on your turbo motor anyways. open intake and exhaust(muffler).
s even just removing the air silencer will help. i took that off and it helped me bury the needle under the 85mph mark with no other mods.
search and do lots of reading. just like you should be doing for your turbo swap.
