Question 1986 Mustang SVO: rebuild kit for rear calipers?

Hey all, I don't even know if such a thing exists, but a fellow I work with has an '86 SVO and is looking for a rebuild kit for the factory rear calipers. Anyone know anything about this? Or where one could find replacement parts, etc? He told me he would like to stick with the factory calipers, as everything else on the car is still the original parts. Thanks in advance for any help...

Just FYI, the factory calipers have phenolic (plastic) pistons and are not as good as the replacement steel piston calipers. They are all remanufatured and still have the FORD oval on the caliper body.

Keeping stock calipers will do nothing for added value and as said, aftermarket replacements are superior.

The factory rear calipers are not plastic. I get the kits from NAPA. I have never seen a rear caliper with plastic pistons. I specialize in mustangs and TC. Navy i think you mean the fronts are phenalic??? I have seen many fronts and you are right the plastic pistons SUCK. They expand and seize in the bore.

Swap in an '87-'88 TC rear. It's an 8.8 as opposed to your 7.5 with a much better gear selection. Rear discs are standard. The rear wheels will protrude 3/4" on each side but if you want stock trac width, swap in your 7.5 axles and get offset caliper brackets from Northracecars.com.
