Default Acquiring a 1993 2.3L and can't decide about...

I'm strapped on ideas with what to do about this. I want it to be fast but I don't want to tear the car apart doing stuff to make it fast. I've seen threads that 2.3L can be fast by doing it the "right" way. What is the "right" way. My budget right now is basically a grand a month from my job and i have a few bills. Maybe $700 left a month for this.

Welcome to the site. $700 a month is a nice amount to devote to it, but you need to sit down and decide exactly what you are going to be using the car for. Everyday driver or what.

I'm using this as an everyday driver that wont get mowed down by a few ricers everyday like my Dodge Neon did. I really want to be able to take it to the track and atleast have fun competing with it, if not winning anything.

Easiest question on the face of the earth... turbo!

You'll find a ton of info on this site and StingerPerformance has really good write-ups as well.

I understand that yeah, putting a turbo will work, but i know nothing about what all you need. theres the turbo, intercooler, piping...all that stuff and im sure theres more just to use the turbo.

What is a great value brand turbo. Something that can generate the 6-8psi and not break my bank account and send it back to mother crying.

You can probably pick up a used IHI from a guy that up dated to a larger one. At 6-8 lbs it will work fine and they are cheap . You can also get new inserts with the bearing assenbly for like under $100.00 bucks. You can also buy an E6 manifold real cheap. Just look around the WEB.

As soon as I have this car and title I will post a pic. It's sitting at my nephews house and I'm getting the money. I'm also going to do a Autoloc Shaved door kit. Would the 11lb solenoid be enough to open the door or should I get a stronger solenoid?
