Default C-4 or T-5 for turbo set-up? I need your personal experiance!!

Im getting everything ready for my turbo swap. I need pros AND cons of each tranny.

And maybe also some personal experiance? What would you like diffrent on the tranny?

Do you like it or love it?

If you got a C-4, whats your torque converer stall? Is it lock-up style?

I wanna know! Im in a delimma!!!!!!!!

Would you choose a C-4 or a T-5? And why?!

hmmm, the choice is between boring and fun; Bad and amazing; Automatic and manual. This is really no choice at all. Have you ever heard of anyone swapping in an automatic in place of their manual? I haven't. There is really nothing good about automatics other than they are easy to drive if they work properly and you can multi-task. Multi-tasking isn't even a positive thing either because it takes your attention away from the road causing more opportunity for accidents. Also you will get worse gas mileage and you might as well throw away 25% of your engines horsepower with the auto.

Especially if you're putting in a turbo. A manual would make that powerful little engine sooo much fun!

I can agree on a lot of points and disagree on some. Yes 5-speed lot more fun. Fuel mileage agree. Now for total performance I say c-4. You lose no boost between shifts. Don't go thru clutchs. If using the 2.3 clutch. Even the special drag ones. Several have posted on turboford.net going to c-4 when find a bellhousing or money for the Stinger 5.0 bellhousing adapter. If staying fairly stock or above and not drag racing much. I say t-5 with 2.3 bellhousing . Now if mainly drag and really going all out. I say c-4 or 5.0 to 2.3 adapter so can use 5.0 clutchs. Me I went c-4. Not for the above reasons but wife can't drive stick. But that is reason I am asked constantly on my 1/4 mile times because of going with c-4. Now on torque convertor mine is stock pinto stall. Now there is a lot of debate on stall. No clear numbers because each car setup is differant on the turbo and engine modes. So do a search on Turboford.net and see. I just done a tech on the c-4 swap. Will give you some ideas on what needed and do if wanting to go that route.

Like mg man said c-4 for drag racing and stall speed for drag racing would set for full boost on lanch
for street or road racing T-5
when I had my 84 Gt turbo (only 350 made) I would use heal and toe and slip the clutch at 3000 rpm to lanch
