i have 1989 mustang lx 2.3 automatic and was driving and a pop came from the car but wasn't to loud, after i heard that the car stopped moving. it will go backwards for about 10ft and then won't go anymore till the it's shut off for atleast 15 min then, but won't go foward at all.i just replaced to moduglator valve 6 weeks ago because of not wanting to change gears and it helped alot and now this happend today. please help me if you know whats worng is't on the side of the road and no way to get it home. sorry for the spelling i'm not the best at spelling !

sorry to hear that your stang is having problems.
to get you responses from folks who know about transmissions, you should post a new thread in the 2.3L Tech section with a more specific title. ("2.3L automatic transmission problems" as an example)
