Question Troubleshooting questions for Turbo Drivers

I am new to turbos and have some questions about how these react.
I have just finished putting an 86 Turbo Coupe engine and T5 into a 1992 Mustang. The combo I have is a, Garret T3 (from a 5 speed car), LA3 Computer, K&N filter, Large VAM, 35 lb injectors, 88 TC Intercooler, Boost is controlled by a stock BCS (with octane switch) I have a custom made 3" downpipe with a 3" high flow cat to two 2 1/4 high flow mufflers and stock mustang tailpipes. Timing set at 10 btc (spout out). I have a boost gauge and Air fuel gauge installed.
I have only run it up and down my road as I have not reg it yet.
My questions are; what should I expect for boost and at what RPM should it start to come in? I know I have 2 levels of boost with the switch setup I have.
I am asking because so far all I have done is blow vacuum lines off and once fixed it seems to come into boost slower then i thought it would. ( high RPM range) I also seem to be going to an overboost at times. I have checked and replaced several Vac lines. reset the timing, set the tps and no changes in performance yet.
Thanks

boost should start around 3000-3500rpms i would expect boost should only go up to 15psi with stock boost controller.

Time to replace all those vac lines. And also do like me use cable ties or small hose clamps on them. Also I would ditch the factory boost control and go with adjustable boost control. If overboost after changing to adjustable boost control. Put air pressure to the wastegate diapham and see if it moves. Not sure what pressure moves but if get to say 20 it is diffently bad or wastegate in elbow is stuck. Curious did you do the 3 elbow off the turbo. Here is what I did. That elbow is steel not cast and can be welded. Mine was mig.

Running 3" to muffler and 2 1/2 over rearend. Also have you check fuel pressure. 39psi with vac line off fuel pressure regulator. Put line back on and note pressure and go for ride. Should build 1psi of fuel for 1psi of boost. May want to upgrade pump to high volume high pressure one. I can search up specs. Don't come to my mind right now. Maurice

Hello and thanks for the info. Nice job welding. No I went with a stock connection for the first inch or so then welded up a 3 inch down pipe. I have replaced all of the vacuum lines near the turbo and put clamps on everything. I have been double checking my routing of the lines and removed a check valve (in the line from the Vacuum tree to the intercooler) that the 86 TC had but from what I can find of the 88 TC diagrams it did not have. I actually tested the Wastgate diaphram and BCS last night with a tee, a gauge, and an air tank fitting and everything seems to work as it should. I have two levels of boost and with steady air pressure the gate stays open at about 9 lbs and about 16 lbs in premium mode. I have not checked fuel pressure yet thats on the list for tonight.
Thanks

Vac diagram here. http://www.turbotbird.com/ go to faq and search in engine section. Shows for a 88 but 86 similiar. I will search for the 86 I got it somewhere. Maurice
