u guys say ur turbo 2.3 didnt have any problems...well this is a wild chance but do u know why mine is fluctuating from 400 rpms to 1600 rpms at idle? possible a vacuum line or sensor?

Haynes manuels suck ass. Your almost better off not even having a manual if it is to be a haynes!

i understand if you dont like the 2.3 liters, but you dont have to come up with such an undeserving title about the 2.3's becaue a lot of people love their 2.3's

By the way mustanggrn's car is turbo too and I was the one running it.
Here's a brief list of things thats broke:
A V8!! C4
and
A V8!! Rear. Maybe if I would have stayed with all 4cyl stuff it wouldn't have broken.

You're right. IF you would have stuck with a 4 cylinder, you would not have been as likely to break those parts because they have lower torque ratings, even though some of the turbos have close horsepower ratings.

really rather strange. i have 2 and i have had no problems other than those caused by the previous owners.
seems that they make very good hp and are pretty reliable i have found. and many of the ricers and 5.0 owners have found that in truth there are stripes on the tail light lenses!

i had some power problems with my 2.3. turned out my ignition timing was way out. ive since adjusted it and it has great power that im happy with for a 4 banger. now that ive got the power, ive found that my clutch needs to be replaced, or maybe just the pressure plate but getting some slippage.

stang2_3 mentioned greasing the pins for the clutch release cable every oil change. im interested in doing so if itll help extend the life of the cable or clutch.

you tell em pal!!!!go get em bubba!!!!!!i agree with 140,the bottom end and rotating assembly is waaay more stout than even a 5.0L..plus the 2.3T rods have oil squitrers built into them to cool the pistons!!!!not to mention 5 mains, and theyre all much beefier than a 5.0L main.....

I can say nothing bad about my 2.3 89 coupe it flies and my wife drives a 2.3 91roller motor (lol 115 hp) with dis (no dizzy) 5 speed great car wicked on gas.

I think if you get a auto 2.3, ya your going to say it slow as slow gets!
