Default Control Arms

Where can I find SVO lower control arms that were shared with the 1982-1983 Continental? How much would they cost and are they exactly the same as the ones in the Continental? THanks!

Good luck finding them. They aren't available new or in NOS. There is a company that was(?) taking old arms, removing the ball joint and installing a replaceable one into the old arm. I called the guy about 3 months ago and he said that he has stopped doing that work because it takes too long for him to re-tool his machines to do the work. Bottom line, you are pretty much stuck with what you have. I have been told that the 94 Mustang lower control arm is the closest new arm available. It is 1/2" shorter in overall length so you loose some track width in the front but a guy at Maximum motorsports has claimed that the tire clearance is close, but won't rub. I intend to install an aluminum tubular K-member with 94 arms in my project SVO. I guess I'll find out if it fits then.

Please let me know how it turns out. I'm curious as to what parts can be swapped. My ultimate dream is to take the car autocrossing in a couple of years, but I'll be more than happy with an even better corner carver on the road.

Thank you very much for the info. I'll keep them in mind when I look for the arms as an upgrade.

I can sell you low mile SVO arms etc for good prices. I suppose you know they were discontinued in 1989 and sold back then for $380 each. Mine were decommissioned in 1988, stored since & I have proof. They have no more than 25K miles on them & ball joints are like new. I have SVO-type Global West del-a-lum and OEM bushings too. I have spare grease boots never used too. Fact is, I have just about every SVO suspension part incl Konis, K-members, 13-1 racks, brakes, spindles, gears etc. All my stuff has been stored for 15+ years before I switched to Corvettes & other toys...this ain't worn out junk.

Some stuff came from discontinued Roush/Bondurant program, salvage and other places. whadayawant?
