2 days ago I bought a used Mustang LX 1990 2.3L. 215000KM
Problems were:
- Right door controls don't work. But window machinism does. (Fuse?)
- Dash gages didn't work except Speedometer(isn't too accurate).
- Prestone "leak". (Ex-owner's say)
- Alot of rust. (Wings, hatch and engine[gas parts, regular stuff])
- Hatch's hydrolic support are both finished. price?
Problems solved:
- Dash, I changed all fuses. 20$
- Prestone "leak". After checking hoses, I found the thermostate was stuck closed. 15$

Now the guy sold me this Mustang with these pros:
- New muffler
- New radiator/fan
- New battery
- Great Suspension
- No cracked windows
I've read all posts about 2.3L N/A and it doesn't sound like I can bring the car higher than 130hp with bolt-ons and tuning. Anyway, I might think of refurbishing this one, sell it, buy a 5.0L. Or do a swap, but I know it's a arm and a leg price-related :P But well-worth it.
Anyway, I will switch the car to full synth oil 5w30 and service the coolant this week.
I am also chaning sparks for V-Power, wires for OEM, and distrib OEM.
I will make a custom air intake with a K&N filter. Have a number?
I am going to redo all the wiring in the engine bay as far as insulation/isolation of wires.
I will take off the radiator for full check up/cleaning, the fan too.
Rebuild the alternator.
That's about it.
