Default 2.3 in a sand rail?

Im buying a Sand rail in the next couple weeks and the guy is running a injected 2.3 with a turbo in it now. The car is already set up to accept that motor so I was thinking of trying to get my hands on one. Does anyone know what kind of power these motors make with and without a turbo...just a general idea would be great. Also what cars/trucks had this motor and what years. Im wanting to find a injected motor since the difference in elevation between where ill be using the car can be 5000+ feet. Also any idea on what I can expect to pay for one....any info would be awesome.Thanx....Mike

Stock N/A hp 2.3 87 to 89 had 88hp and after 90 or 91 115hp in the dual plug head found in Ranger trucks and mustangs.
Turbo 2.3 with intercooler stock, around 190hp SVOs and 87/88 thunderbird turbocoupes.
Turbo 2.3 w/o intercooler, (less boost) 150hp i think, Merkur XR4TI early tubocoupes and some Cougars.

Great engine to mod easy to pull 300 hp with

Even the earlier carbed 2.3's (like my '82) were rated at 88hp.

The Merkur XR4ti turbo 2.3L was rated at 145 with an automatic, 175 (I think) with a standard tranny.

I still miss my old '85 XR4ti...
