Default Electrical problem: Steering wheel controls

Uhh, I guess it goes here...

I'm having a bit of an electical problem with the steering wheel controls (Cruise control and horn)...For some reason, the fuse for these functions keeps blowing out, and I therefore can't use them...I replaced the fuse one weekend awhile ago, and they worked as fine as they could ever work, but by the next day, it (The fuse) had blown out again...

Anyone know what the problem could be? Could there be something else that's drawing power from the same fuse that the steering wheel uses and overpowering it (I.E. Does the stereo or cigarette lighter run on the same electrical line as the steering wheel)?

Default me too

had the exact same problem in mine and still haven't really solved it. I suspect the problem is in a short in the steering column as there was a recall for ignition switches in the column as it could result in fire even when the key was in the off position. Check the harness up in the steering column for a short/black melted plastic and crap. You might have to pick up a different one. That, and you could see if you could get Ford to live up to their recall and set you up with a new ignition switch. The only reason a fuse blows that regularily is if there's a short someplace...

I found out my problem long since then...

...there was a damn penny stuck in the cigarette lighter...

Check there and make sure no loose change is messing with your car...
