I've Done It Now....

Saturday night I couldn't sleep so I started researching 2.3 turbo transplants. By Sunday afternoon I had been to the pic-a-part and got an '87 Turbo Coupe computer & VAM. By Monday afternoon I had purchased my first turbo engine. Is it always like this?

My name is flyin 5.8 (have to change that now I guess) and I'm... a turboholic.

I picked up my new engine Friday, also stoped by the pic-a-part & got another turbo & exhaust manifold. Tore the engine down for a rebuild & found cross hatching in all 4 cylinders, nice tight reman turbo, only one main bearing showing copper (~1/8"x1/2") & no metal on the magnetic drain plug!!!

Not to bad for a $115 Ebay engine.

Did a little MORE shopping today... Ebay Volvo FMIC for $23.50 (to be installed later) & ordered a new Gillis Boostvalve.

hey what are you putting this engine in? You dont describe what kind of car you have. Fox body I hope. If you never had a 2.3 turbo before, youll love it once you do get it. turbo boost is quite a rush.

Going into a '90LX hatch 5 speed.

Already has 5.0 rotors, 73mm calipers, FRPP "B" springs, Eibach Anti-sway bars, Poly bushings almost everywhere & Koni reds. The turbo should be fun... The only turbo car I've driven is a Dodge Daytona (FWD).
