Default " babying" your car

hwy guys, its me again, i got another question. This may seem a lil slow but me and my friend are about to drop in my newley modifed turbo 2.3 motor into my '92 lx. but the thing is rigt after i get everything hooked up i was wanted to go rape some ricers and all those lil bastards out there, i told my friends who helped me with the project about that and they are like," man you really can;t do that for the first couple thousands miles." " you gottaget the car broke in to everything." " you cant just go WOT right when you get it." im a lil skepticall on this, and i was wondering if you guys agreed or disagreed on this, plase give some feed back too.

thanks

you shoudl always take it easy for a few hundred miles, to let your rings seat right. ive heard people say , just take it easy to let the engine"settle" in its new home. like just breaking it in. but i know once your rings seat you will be making a little more power, its liek a clutch, if you replace the clutch you dont go out doing rev-limit launches right off the bat.

its also a good idea to change the oil after 100 miles, 500miles, 1000miles... to make sure any loose metals are removed fromt he engine that are created during the break in process...
