i was wondering if a stock tranny from a 2.3 will work on a stock 5.0L in my conversion that im about to do

no a 2.3 tranny will not work with a 5.0 engine. The one you want for the 5.0 is an aod 4 speed auto.

well its a manual t-5 and wanted to keep it a manual not convert to automatic

the 2.3 T5's input shaft is smaller than the 5.0's
It might work but I Think it will just twist the shaft

You CAN use a 2.3 tranny with a 5.0, however if I remember correctly you have to get a new housing as well as the input shaft is a different size. There is a BMW part to fix that. Its a connector for the two. Look into it, though I dont know if the parts needed are available any longer.

is there anyway in which i can change the input shaft from a 2.8l t5 tranny and use a 5.0l t5 tranny input shaft cuz ive heard people talking about it and they sed it works i just wanna be on the safe side cuz i i have a 5.0l engine and i got a 2.3 t5 from my brother could u plz help me there (by the way the t5 tranny is from a camaro v6 2.8) they didnt say anything bout the housing
