Default Loud 2.3 WHAT DOES HE HAVE?

There's a guy in town who owns a pretty much stock 89-93 (somewhere in there) lx 2.3. The thing is, he has the 5.0 stickers and emblems on it and he has an exhaust that sounds VERY similar to the 5.0 models with H pipes (you know, that low rumble of a musclecar)

What could he possibly have on it!?!? I know its a 2.3l because I asked him when I saw him at Dunkin Donuts one day...

Im thinking engine back, with a header that will easily mod into a turbocoup's header so that i can u a t3/t4 turbo when i upgrade.

I get that now and then, a 2.3 and sound meaty if it has a big roller and a good chambered muffler.

a slightly better cam and an free-flowing exhaust with a glasspack will leave a 2.3 with a whole lotta bark and a little bite to go with it. I love embarrasing the hell out of V6 Camaro, Mustang, and Firebird owners when I downshift from 4th to 2nd in the '74, floor it to 6000rpm keep pulling away as I shift back through 3rd and 4th. 3.55:1 gears, a factory short-throw shifter (74-78 Mustang IIs with RAD transmissions had a VERY short shifter throw) and a few little "upgrades" under the hood... and a total investment in the car of less than $1000.

Who the hell would put 5.0 tags on a PUStang? That's like wearin' a shirt that
says " I have a 12" penis"! You will be the only one who gets embarassed
in the end.....

Well he could have done like I did to my Mystique 4 popper. I replaced the stock muff with a glass pack and then where the pipe turned to go around the gas tank I had another pipe grafted in and run to the other side. I then had baby GP's on each side just before the tips. It looks like I have duals and sounds good, not like those fart can jobs.

he could have replaced his stocker with a good turbo and then backed it with a baby GP. That would probably give a throaty note.
