Looks like someone, not me, overtorqued the hold down screw. Well, take that...three questions. When I replaced my timing belt there was a third gear driven device. I later found it was the oil pump. I also found at that these used to be timed. On a 93 they are not. Well during the job I spun the water pump pulley a few times for no real reason, just "fiddlin." After the job, I cranked the motor--fired right off one key bump. But it tapped up top very loudly like lifters. I shut it off thinking I had just destroyed the motor. I checked the oil and the stick had white milky oil and water and looked like it was 2 to 3 quarts over. I drain it and refilled with 5 quarts and cranked it again. The tapping was there but it got quieter until it finaly stopped. Where did the water come from? And why was it tapping? Did my jacking with the water pump do something? |
OK - here goes
YES you need all the plugs working
Try a junk yard to replace the broken coil pack base
When the engine was 'cam less' - not that the camn wasn' t there - but it was out of the equasion for a while. - - YES you may have caused your own problem I will venture a guess that your still having that problem - no matter the cause.
Put a head gasket on the car and check everything - if ur broke - do a compression test on it first.
best of it
