I would like to replace my damaged hood with a small cowl hood. I'm thinking a 1.5" cowl. My coupe will be lowered 1-1.5" and I have gun metal cobra r wheels (17'X9"). It will be a medium or dark blue. I want it to look realy clean so a low cowl should add just enough agressive look.
I get the mustang mags and there are a lot of ads for hoods. any suggested companies or ones to stay away from? I'd just go with cervini's but $400-500 is too much for my taste.
personally i think larger cowls are pretty ugly... 1.5" aint 2 bad, but personally im gonna get cevini's ram air induction hood.

so far:
1987 hatchback mustang
2.3L, replaced to a '89
Air silencer removed
t-5 all the way
1400 watt sound system w/ twin 12" chrome subs

I have a 3" cowl hood, and it really isn't that bad. I got it from Dallas Mustang. It didn't fit perfect, but the body shop took care of that! I really like it and wouldn't go any smaller!!

Harwood is good but I god my Cobra R hood from Design Concepts. Excellent fit and finish required little prior to paint. I did need to modify the hood safety latch a little bit to fit easily - took about 20 minutes.
perrsonaly if ur lokin for a mean cowl hood go to a 4-5 inch cowl those are wat all the mean stangs have if ur lookin for a sleek cowl a 3 inch all way
Cervini's all the way, their quality isn't matched by anyone else. Their hoods even look good just left in the white gelcoat that they ship them in.

if you don't want to ever worry about the glass cracking or spider webbing at stress points then go with a Good Hood steel hood. It has a 2" cowel and has the aggresiveness that you are looking for.
