Default SPOUT or SAW switch on 1992 Mustang LX

i'm trying to pull the trouble codes with a scanner and the manual says to disconnect the SPOUT or SAW switch before starting the engine to get it to base timing. problem is, i can't find anything that looks like this. you are supposed to disconnect it, start the engine, then reconnect it and the RPM is supposed to change. so when i do the key on engine running test, i'm getting code 538 (insufficient RPM change).

any help???

i think that is the black plug-connecter BY the distibuter the one you are to unplug when setting the timeing. it has two wires and just loops back if i remeber right. if you need a pic drop me a line i will take a pic of my 89. its about the size of a quater but is square

leave the spout connector in , this dosent have a distributor, also when you do the run test when you get the wot message you need to do a quick goose/ wot then relese throttle then wait for the codes, big G
