Default custom intake

I promise i will take pic's tomarrow, but till then it is true you can fabricate your own working cold air intake b/c i did.And with only $30 usd minus the filter and the sensor adapter. All you have to do is take a trip to home depot, go to plumbing section and get your self a 3" PVC tube 24" long b/c your going to have to do some cutting.(The tube that comes from the throtle body to the MAF air sensor) and a 90 degree elbo. Get two 2"-3" fittings and one 3" both way.If you happen to buy everything at once first thing you should do is assemble the filter with the adapter and the MAF sensor and the pvc uncut, pre fit it and mark off what you got to cut off(BUT DONT CUT TO MUCH OFF,PART OF THE PROCESS IS EYE BALLING IT).Put the 90 on the end of that; and measure again. If everything looks good,From the piece you cut measure that to fit from the 90 fitting to the throtle fitting. Measure every thing and pre fit it. For the filter and adapter you can go to any local autozone or pepboys.spectra filters are about $24 and change and the adapter cant be more than $12. It works very well and i have no problems.buy some spray paint and spray it whatever color you want.

I only spent $40 on mine (with filter and mines metal so no melting risks)

I actually picked my entire CAI at discount auto parts for $52. Only thing I had to get was the reducer to connect the tubing to the throttle body.

What did you guys use to mount the CAI, so that it wouldn't bounce all over the place?

I cut and bent 1/8" steel plate and bent it.
Drilled a hole in the bottom so I could use the stock mounting area and bolts. I then bent it at the top and used a 3" hose clam to hold it there

Hey, that black hose underneath your custom intake I think it comes out of your header, where did you put it at since the airbox isn't there anymore? and where did you put your ACT Sensor at? Thanks.

i did this too but i ran mine a diff way. i left the stock 45 degree angle rubber tube off the throttle body and ran it straight forward over the radiator hose then straight down by the air dam. i custom cut a long piece of PVC pipe and fit it to the damn so it catches air from the whole front of the car and rigged it to go to the one pipe to the body. it took thinking but it worked.

I kind of get what your saying, do you have a picture? I don't know what to do with my vacuum lines, ACT, and the black hose from the header..
