I am planning on taking a 3000 mile trip in a few days and was wondering if anyone thinks doing so in a mustang (1990 2.3L lx with 70k miles) is a bad idea. This trip would be entirely highway driving, and my mustang tends to vibrate at 65+ mph. The only other problem it has is that it invariably stalls when I shift into drive from a cold start. I guess my main concerns are the vibrating and what driving at highway speeds for 3000 miles might do to the engine. Does anyone have personal experience? Any advice would be very much appreciated.

highway driving is actually healthy for an engine, as opposed to start-and-stop daily driving in the city

the vibration might be ur axle or something along the wheels. id get that checked into first before you go

but otherwise it should be fine. the tranny is hard to diagnose.. might be a linkage cable or something
