Default 1987 Mustang 2.3 to 4.6 swap

this is a difficult swap, im sure

but i want to be unique and the mod motor is a lot more advanced technology than a primitive 5.0 is.. the power and gas mileage is a lot better

so im lookin for some info on the topic. i kno there are some things i need and i know the wiring is going to be difficult..

so here's what i know i'll need

Whew, good luck ! I would put "Patience" at the top of the list of things you'll need

Computer and wiring harness would be key also !

God luck friend. You are going to have a lot of trouble fitting that 4.6 block in your 5.0. You might have to cut your shock towers out and make a tubular sub frame, possibly use a heidts front end or something. The car just isn't big enough, that's why it hasn't been done yet.

if you can get the motor in, just put a matching tranny on it. then get a custom driveshaft made to meet up with your existing rear end.

for the money you are going to sink into this project, you could by an '03 cobra or something.

but good luck! you're gonna need it!

and the 5.0 isn't primative. it's just a different motor. there is a reason the 302 is still around. the mod motor is a way for ford to cut down on manufacturing costs. wait till you see how much it costs to modify that 4.6

Question 2.3 to 4.6

I would like to do the same thing to my 92, 2.3l to 4.6 swap. I see this thread is a year old. Is there any new info on this swap?
