Default Buying a '93 2.3l w/62k miles. Is this a good engine?

I am buying it for my 16yr old daughter. Is it okay to drive it from San Antonio to San Diego?

The 2.3 is a solid little creature, not that complicated, and good on gas...

Just don't expect to go fast! lol
