Default 87 mustang to 2.3t conv.

hey again...

since i loved my turbo coupe so much...ive got my hands on an 87 mustang that appears to have a 351 transplanted w/o any electronics on it at all...i dont even know if the engine runs...i was told the auto tranny is bad though...i can get my hands on a 2.3t & t5 and i saved the la3 computer, big vam and a few other parts from my 87 t/c...what would be involved to put the 2.3 in the mustang?

Oooh... I think I'd keep the 351 and get a C4 or C6 myself.

Just me though...

Just about anything goes with a 351... they're a very good engine.

It probably would be pretty difficult to swap a 2.3 in place of that V8, probably need a new driveshaft and transmission mount, not to mention motor mounts and all the accessories.

2.3, v6, and v8 engines all have the same motor mounts but the transmissions, driveshaft and rear-ends shoud be changed , not to mention computer (any '86-'88 comp. fits '86-'88: '89 comp only '89: any '90-'93 comp fits '90-'93: has air bags) wire harness, exhaust, brake lines, fuil lines, suspension, tack, ect. stay with the 351 unles you want to do the swap that bad then send me an e-mail i will send you a copy of an article that would help you and put you in the know.
