Thumbs up 1987 2.3 air intake removal

Hi how is everyone who reads this doing? I have removed my stock air-intake right up untill intake manifold I wanna replace it with my own custom one somewhat like the PVC custom mods i've seen on this site... so with mine I was planning to cut a square hole in the hood about two and half feet away from the intake manifold and use heat resistant tubing that is the a lil bit bigger of diameter to slip over of course and use use a peice from the exsisting intake just the top cover of the air box where the vacuum lines plug into..now my confusion is the two vacuum lines one leads off somewhere to the MAF sensor the other leads to the air vane meter I believe it is called well I was just curious do I take the sensor or whatever it's called that the lines plug in and just install that into my new airintake plug the lines bak up and everything should be fine???? or do I have to reprogram my ECU and get bigger MAF sensor if anyone could give me a bit of advice it would be helpful! Thanks

Your 87 DOESN'T HAVE A MAF it is SD

One of those lines goes to your EGR lines and uses vacuum to open the hot/warm air intake in the bottom of your intake box.

The sad thing is, with 15 PSI, straight back exhaust, and a bobs log, it still feels slow...

Maybe 20PSI, new computer, new 3" VAM, and some porting will make it faster
