I just picked up a 93 mustang 2.3 5spd with 55k miles on it. I want to know if i have to change the crank to forged if i change all of the rods and pistons over. I dont plan on pusing more than 20 psi but i just want to make sure. And where would the cheapest place to grab some forged rods and pistons be?
The crank is fun, lots of people with a 2.3 turbo are running stock cranks (project bolt on is running 28PSI, 10's, T5 with a completely stock block (crank, rods, pistons all with 300k miles)

The sad thing is, with 15 PSI, straight back exhaust, and a bobs log, it still feels slow...
Maybe 20PSI, new computer, new 3" VAM, and some porting will make it faster
Everything on the N/A is the same as the 2.3 turbo except for the pistons, and the head (mechanical)(also the block as different nickel content, but it only matters with BIG numbers)

So i would be good for shooting 315-350 horse with the block, and obviously get forged pistons and rod? And what would i need to do to the head, or should i try to find one in the junkyard?
I have a turbo head from a t-bird lined up, what size injectors would i need to run the 315ish hp i want to? Im not sure what turbo ill run but i know it wont be the stock one.
I did the easy thing and bought a t-bird turbo motor, question is, can i use the N/A motor's computer, obviously the 2.3 nas have coil packs and the turbo motor has a dizzy. Im only 15 and dont have enough money to afford the computer, the guy was an ass and ripped me off so i just bought the motor.
I know how you feel about being ripped off (same thing happend to me)
You'll need to get the car tuned if your going to run the N/A computer, no 2 ways around it. Or you could go on turboford and buy a cheap computer and VAm (bought mine for $100 with shipping)

So basically, the N/A computer wont work too good, should i try to find a turbo coupe computer or go on that site, idk im just trying to find a cheap way around it, limited on money and i still need to rebuild the motor. BTW, just so i can be positive, all of the turbo 2.3s came with forged pistons right?
So the easiest thing would be to just find a turbo coupe and grab the computer, or something else. I have no clue about fords yet, i know a ton about the turbo dodges so all this is new to me.
