Does anyone know how to replace the carb on a 86 mustang lx? Its a 1bbl carb. It is hard to change? I never worked on carbs so do you think i could do it in a weekend?

Are you sure it is a 86' model motor? If it is someone has changed it to carb., 86' was the first year for fuel injection. But there not hard to change unbolt it, take throttle cable off, clean manifold of old gasket, new gasket, put one back on, set idle.

Im pretty sure its a 86. I just bought the car a few weeks ago and haven't got the chance to do research on it yet. Thank you for your help but do you know of any companies that would have them?

You need to read more on the 2.3.

The 5.0 was fuel injected in 86, the 2.3 was carbed.

To replace, unbolt carb, take all lines off (label them) and all the fuel lines. Put new carb on and reverse
