I've got a 90 2.3l lx n/a. I eventually plan on doing a complete rebuild / upgrade on my engine and make it turbo. If you remove the cat does it cause white smoke to come out when you floor it? I want to replace my exhaust system now, but should I just wait till i do the turbo. If I do it now I just planned on using the stock header and bolt on the new exhaust till i put turbo on with turbo header. also what is a good muffler to use. I want a deep sound.

removing the cat will not cause white smoke....you can do your exhaust now and then just change the headpipe when you turbo..mufflers are a matter of personal likes for the most,check out some sound clips here,hp and tourque depend on how the build is and what turbo you use,,there are alot of threads on this also..

Go on youtube and look at my 2.3 swap done (almost) video, I'm running a 2.5" straight pipe with a cherry bomb turbo muffler, and turn down before the axle. sounds stock
