Default 1988 Mustang with drivability issues

Have an '88 that is on it's last leg. 215k on the odometer and it shows every mile. Wife hit deer with it last fall so I was going to finally retire it, but the Honda I was going to have her drive also has issues, (piece of ****!!!). Anyway, we pounded out the dents, replaced the radiator and headlight and got it up and running. Which brings me to this post, it is running, but not very well. It takes about five minutes after a cold startup to get any power out of it. I mean ANY power! Last night wife had to drive up a hill after a cold start and the 'Stang just crawled up. If you give it any throttle she will rev but as soon as you let out the clutch she just dies off (car, not wife). Am not going to stick a lot of time and money in it, have a GT to get ready for some track events. Any simple ideas? I am going to stick some new plugs in it, and maybe wires, but beyond that....

Thanks

There is no MAF sensor. This is an '88. It is fine after it warms up a bit.

Working on the tune-up, wouldn't know how to pull codes if I had to.

Found the problem, though I do not understand why. It was the alternator, the plug on the alt that feeds from the brushes was broken off. Replaced the plug from an old rebuild kit, and it runs like a champ. I do not know what the alt has to do with it running like it's lean when cold, but hey it's running fine now, so why question.
