Cooling Fan Also check to make sure that your radiator cooling fan is coming on. It should always be on when the AC is on. If it does not come on, the condensor overheats and the compressor tends to lock up making the belt squeal. Increasing the RPM/speed moves more air across the condensor and cools it down some. There are several things that can make the fan fail to come on, so you may have to do some troubleshooting to figure out what is wrong. In the meantime,TEMPORARILY wire the fan directly to the battery and see if the squealing stops. |
