Adjusting clutch cable To adjust the auto-adjusting clutch cable on your 88' mustang, find where the clutch cable enters in through the firewall. On 88' it should be right next to the throttle cable. Once you found where the cable comes into the cabin, notice that its attached to a white-ish yellow plastic semi-circle with teeth. And that semi-circle's teeth comes in contact with a much smaller piece of plastic and this assembly is what controls the amount of tension on the clutch cable. To adjust the actual cable, pull the smaller piece of plastic away from the semi-circle, then rotate the semi-circle to the tension you want and let go of the smaller piece of plastic. They will "latch" back together and you should be all set. The semi circle is actually more of a 1/4 of circle, but you really can't miss it once you get underneath your dash. It may take a few tries with re-positioning the plastic assembly to find the tension you're looking for. Good luck!
