Default 1992 Mustang 2.3l cam recommendation

Car is 92, 5spd, with the dual plug heads. I have to pull the head for a blown gasket. If the head checks out OK then I might be switching cams if it is worth it.

Not looking for anything radical, want to keep my stock ignition, computer, fuel injection and such.

Are there any factory cams that are better? Do I have to put in new followers or can the old ones be re-used?

Is the swap even worth it or will I just be wasting money?

Pete

The 92 has a roller camshaft. If you want to keep the followers you have, you'll need to find a hydraulic roller camshaft. The Engle 55 is a a hydraulic flat-tappet that uses the old style slider followers.

As far as OE cams go, the factory roller cams are very popular with the turbo guys.

Without any other modifications, I'd say a cam swap would be an easy waste of $300.00
