What is the differance between the LA2 and LA3 ECM. My local junk yard has an 87 T-Bird with a LA2, I know the LA3 is more sought after but for what reason?

The LA2 is a good computer. An LA3 (88) has a wee bit of a faster processor is all. The fuel and timing maps are fairly identical.
How much are the asking for it?

I got the LA2 ECM for $50 from the junkyard. I repined my harness pluged in the ECM but to my disapointment it wouldn't run well once it got into boost. WTF!?! I have a brand new BAP sensor I'm pretty sure my VAM is good, stock T3 turbo, no boost leaks. I really want to figure out what's wrong with this thing.

I returned the ECM to the junkyard, got my money back so now I'm again running with a 2.9 V6 Ecm. I can't find a reasonable ECM and I don't really have the money for Megasquirt

There is a PK1 Ecm on Ebay for cheap
