i was thinking the same IAC will cause more headaches then just about any other car problem.. second thing to do, while car ideling get some brake cleaner or wd40 or somthing and spray the all your vacuum lines, if there is any surge or engine quits then walla, you have a vacuum leak
next option, check your coolant level and bleed the coolant system, check for air bubbles, if bubbles are present check compression if compression good check for soft coolant lines, beleive it or not air locks or low coolant will cause a bad idle as well
check air filter make sure is clean and no restrictions
and the last thing i would suggest, check your fuel system/pump and engine timing, if none of these correct your poor idle i suggest running a new fuel line thats about 20 feet in length to the outside of the car, make sure there is fuel in the line by smelling for gas fumes, next put a pair of safety goggles on and drop a match down the line.. because idle problems suck!
haha but good luck with this!
