Default Puting a ranger 2.5 crank in my stock 2.3 block

I have a stock 2.3 block and was on ebay and found a 2.5 crank and was wondering if I could put it in my 2.3's block? I also found a roller cam from a ranger and was also wondering if i could put that in there too? Thanks

What year is the block? The 91 and later 2.3's and all 2.5's had smaller main bearing journals. The 2.5 crank is not a direct fit for earlier blocks.

The cam will fit, you'll need the roller followers as well. If you buy the followers separately, make sure they're for the larger valve stems. Somewhere in the mid-late 90's Ford reduced the valve stem diameter and changed the followers to match.

Thanks, NavySVO. I thought someone made spacers, but I couldn't verify it as true.

That 89 block is going to need the spacers. That's a big journal block.

For that you will need forged pistons and a healthy head gasket....you will also need a AFPR and a 255lph fuel pump to keep the detonation away.

The pistons and connecting rods are different for th 2.5 conversion as well if memory serves me. Ranger cam and followers is a great idea. Try and track down a ranger exhaust manifold as well from 96 (also going on memory). It is a tube steel header.
