Default 1995 4.6 engine swap into 1989 Mustang lx with 2.3

I was thinking about swapping a 4.6 from a 1995 thunderbird into my 1989 mustang with the 2.3 (why it's in the 2.3 tech section anyway) ans was wondering what i'd need to do and if it would be worth the effort Thanks

Get a 5.0L. The 4.6 won't fit in many different aspects and you would need the transmission to accompany it including the ECU. It's not worth the time, money or effort when you could just go out and buy a 5.0L engine for a lot less money and hassle. I would never recommend this swap unless you had a spare Fox Body mustang that you don't need as your daily driver and a 4.6L sitting in the garage collecting dust. Either way, you will need an immense amount of mechanical skills but the 5.0L is a little more straight forward.

The strut towers would need modifying as well, and then you would have a front end problem to boot unless you went with a Mustang II front end conversion.....
As dakine858 said....too much hassle

Ya sounds like a lot of hassle. Liked the 5.0 better anyway
