clean the egr valve(maybe replace)
could be o2 sensor
you should be able to hook up code reader and find out exactly what it is the reader not that much and hooks up under hood real easily

ya i already have it says that the egr valve is causing it (there is another code saying that the rpms change to much during the check) but the light will stay on for a few seconds depends on the rpms then go away and just do this over and over does any one know were i can get an egr valve for less than $80 autozone is a little expensive.

have you tried taking it out and cleaning it? that way all you need is a new gasket make you get it to move again

Hey future5.0,

I'm PRETTy sure the EGR valve is that big canister looking thing that has a hose connected from the exhaust manifold to the intake. You can google for an image, but that's where it is, towards the rear of the engine compartment behind the intake manifold. As far as removing it and cleaning it out, I'm not sure. I'm pretty sure you just disconnect the hoses on each side. I probably need to replace mine since I didn't pass emissions last time I went. When I change it out I'll let you know what I did.
