Default 2.5 Litre Engine Swap

Well, my cam is in the middle of a melt down, found out the head has damage on the guides, mu valves are starting to hammer, pistons sound a little loud for me. This was supposed to be a pro build engine. With all the things I need to change, I was thinking of swapping in a 2.5. Can they be internally balanced? I heard they don't perform as well as a 2.3, any truth to that? This will not be an emissions vehicle.

it depends on the engine iv seen a 1.8l out preform a 2.0l so might actually lose power your best bet is to see if you can find an engine not a 2.3l that is DOCH that will give you more power off of the top of my head i can only think about 98-03 ford escort zx2 engines 2.0l which they have a turbo kit for but dont know what you want they run more horsepower but about 5 ftplds less torque i think your best bet for the engine would be to turbo the stang is about 500 to 600 pounds more in weight than the zx2 but would get in the low 20s with mpg with the turbo.
