Default Transmission coolant? questions

Hi guys,

I was driving around in the "Time Machine" yesterday when a hose blew. I checked and it was one of the hoses that goes to the heater core. it failed at a T-connector that appears to join a transmission coolant line. This happened late last night, so all i did was bypass the heater core to get home and I haven't had a chance to check it out today. I'm pretty sure it's to the transmission. It almost doesnt make sense though because I figured the tranmission coolant lines would be directly to the radiator or something. I checked the Haynes and Chilton and they don't mention anything about tranny coolant lines and they're pictures dont have that t-connector setup that I have. Any hints? That smaller line is proably about 1/4" inner diameter.

Thanks

It would help with the year of the vehicle. Most part stores carry a nice array of hoses.
If you take the old hose to one, I have had them let me look at ones they have in back to find a suitable match for.

Thanks, but I just wanted to know if the tranny coolant line should be going to that T-connector that's also connected to the heater core. Seemed kind of weird. The little tranny line leaked when the car was one so im guessing it was a return line to the radiator/pump. The car is a 1991 with a VIN A engine.

If this hose is meeting a plastic tee that goes into your heater core. the hose doesnt go to your transmission if you look closer it should be on the bottom your your lower intake manifold for your coolant cross over. let me know what you discover.

Thumbs up

Wow, thanks. I took a closer look and sure enough, it went to the intake. Sweet. Checker even had the tee connector that autozone didn't. Damn not finding the right parts. Anyway, what's the best way to make sure no air is in the lines? thanks
