mustang 7.5 rear, removing the pinion lockbolt I was wondering if anyone has had as much trouble as me with removing the pinion shaft in their 7.5" rear. i took the lockbolt out with little trouble at all, really quite easily, yet the pinion shaft wont come out. I've tried tapping it but to no avail.
I need to get at it because my axle seals are leaking onto my drum brakes, basically rendering my rear brakes useless.
Looking at the pictures it seems too short as well. I know i didnt break it, i didnt need much force at all to get it free. Bu it seems shorter than all the other ones in the pics.
I have attached some pics of my own.
Any ideas on how to remove the last bit if it is stuck in side? Also where might i fight a new one? I cant seem to find it online.
please and thank you
