Yep, the title sums it up....I'm wondering what the differences in the blocks themselves are. Is it just the oil line for the turbo, or is there something else I am overlooking?

It's not the block, it's the pistons, the head, and head gasket.

The same block, rods, and crank were used on both applications

That's cool, I planned on replacing the head and doing a full rebuild anyways.

There is no real power goal really...just build up a daily driver with enough cajones (OK, some power....no fixed number though) to spank any of those vehicles that have a misplaced airplane wing on their trunk
