Unhappy Electrical Malfunctions

Hey guys and gals! im at a standstill with my project...i purchased a newer instrument cluster for my 79 2.3T and hooked everything up. when i did when i first got it, my car wouldn't start. i swapped the electrical connection sheet on the back of the cluster from my old one to my new one, and my car at least started, but some of the gauges don't work. my engine coolant sensor isn't working and my tach reads lower than it should. my shift point before was between 2500 and 3000, but now according to the tach it's around 1500. any help would be greatly appreciated!! thanks!!

The cluster must have come from a V8 car. The tach is off by exactly half.
