It is strange that the smoke is white. The PCV valve controls the ventilation in the area of the motor that contains oil. I would think that you would see blue smoke. White smoke indicates that water is somehow getting into the combustion chamber. Water has only a few ways that it can get into the combustion chamber and they are all not good. It could just be a bad head gasket, or it could be something really bad like a cracked head or block. You should start with a good old fashioned compression test on all cylinders. Hope this helps. |
