Hey, I have an 89, 2.3 and the same thing has happened to me. I changed oil about 20 miles ago with 10w-30 blend. I just replaced the timing belt. Everything lined up. When I started the engine to adjust the time, It sounds like the lifter or lash adjustment is clicking on number one. I have not driven the car yet, just let it idle for a couple of minutes. Are you saying that the noise will go away after driving a few miles? Also, does the enging actually have "lifters"? Are what the"Haynes Manual" calls "lash adjusters" hydraulic like lifters? |
