Default Building a 1923 T Bucket, 2.3 weight and hp addons

I am planning on building a 23 t bucket using the 2,3 as my engine. I would like to know how much it weighs and some on your hopup tricks.
Thanks

ok the 2.3 weighs ruffly 2700 pounds the only things i know that you can do is remove the ac and power steering also remove the rear seat/rear seat delete kit if you have a hatch easier to find and you lose more weight notch harder to find but you can. remove/scrape all the sound deadening material out street car and you want speakers replace with dynomat lose 40 or so pounds depending on car size. if not just remove the stuff and all the speakers and head unit also street or drag car take out the donut in the trunk and the jack if you dont want the carpet back there remove it to just be ready to pay for a tow if you do get a flat. last thing i know of is you can actually get carbon fiber rims i think there like 2gs a set but weight a total for all four of like 30 pounds.

Ballpark figure, around 450 pounds give or take. Not much lighter than an all iron Windsor setup.

There's alot that you can do to the motor, it just depends on what you want out of it and your fuel delivery preference. There's a thread at the top of the 2.3 tech forum page here that has some good info. Mind you, there's a good portion of it that is Mustang specific, but even those ideas can be adapted to your build.

For parts check the following

Esslinger Engineering

Racer Walsh

Boport

Once you've read enough to be thoroughly confused, come on back and ask questions. We don't know it all here, but we'll help as much as we can.

A dressed head and empty block is right at 160 lbs.

I can't see a crank, rods and pistons being an additional 300 pounds.....

That seems light to me.

While I've never dropped one on a scale, the bare block feels heavier than 100lbs. The head is fairly hefty too. Add the rest of the internals, accessories, fluids and you get closer to my ballpark number.

In shipping my head fully dressed, with an E6 manifold and a set of stainless valves, it weighed in at 86 pounds both ways.

Can't argue with the scale

I guess I'll have to get my arm scale recalibrated along with my butt dyno

This site may help. Vintage Hot Rods & Classic Cars :: Resources for people restoring hot rods including classifieds, how-to's, more. How about a 2.3 turbo adds just a few pounds but takes up to 145 to 200 Hp with stock tuning. Seen a t-bucket with one nice.

complete engine is about 350lbs
best add on are
Bo-Port cam about 300 bucks
My header about 300 bucks
a 3" down pipe about 150 bucks
50 to 65 pound injectors 250 bucks
Moates for tuning and Maf conversion
about 200 bucks
40bobs intake and throttle body maybe 400 bucks
So for around 1600 bucks you can build a motor that will smoke the tires from a 2nd gear roll.
