Default can I replace cats with straight pipe?

I have a 93 lx with a 2.3 fuel injected engine. It skipped a tooth on the timing belt and apparently overheated my cats causing them to get plugged up. I don't want to replace them and don't have to worry about emission testing. If I just replace them with a straight pipe, will I have to change my computer chip? If I do where can I buy one? Can anyone please help?

Thank you in advance.

you can do it. ive done it to all my cars. it will make it a little louder and also help exhaust escape out faster. my personal opinion... i would do it.

the back pressure problem is what concerned me the most. I've heard that the computer would freak without the right back pressure and the car would run like crap. I never thought about keeping the o2 sensor. Thanks for that. getting a custom bent straight pipe is no problem for me, I just don't want the car to suck. I just got it. I want it to go faster, not slower. I wonder if a second muffler would work if there in no computer fix.

B.S.

The car will run just fine. It'll get a little louder, but you'll get over it pretty quick. After a while, you'll forget you even got rid of the cats.

That's a crock, cats are a definite power loss.
